Frequently Asked Questions and Live's Answers

20.06.2025

Hello, Adventurers,

We sincerely thank you for joining us for the second live stream.

We informed you that our broadcast was scheduled for 7 PM, and, coincidentally, we once again experienced attacks exactly at that time. Our development team was already responding to the situation and took the necessary measures as quickly as possible. Since we already had this live stream scheduled with you, we made an effort to carry it out as planned.

First, we sincerely apologized for not being able to provide a stable gameplay environment due to various issues since launch.

In this live broadcast, we answered the most frequently asked questions, collected from the community, and explained the measures we had already taken. We also accurately clarified some incorrect information that had recently circulated in the community.

Just like the previous live stream, this time we also prepared a quiz event. There were five questions in total, and the first three players to answer each of them correctly received prizes equivalent to orchestra coupons.

When answering, many players remembered to include their character name and server. With this information, we sent the prizes to the game accounts via RODEX. Responses without character name and server were considered invalid, so we asked players not to forget to include them.

We then began the Q&A session with the most common questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Item Duplication

As previously announced on Discord, there was no item duplication caused by malicious attempts from players. The case shown during the first live stream, which involved the duplication of arrows, was caused by a memory shortage on some servers and was corrected immediately. There were also indications of duplication of some consumable or common items due to server instability, but this issue no longer occurs. We reaffirm that no valuable items were duplicated.

Some users raised concerns about the possibility of duplication of the "Oval Artifact" item, but upon investigation, it was found that certain cases were related to abuse of the payment system. We are already working together with the responsible companies to prevent new occurrences and have applied immediate sanctions, such as account bans, to the detected cases.

We are analyzing the logs daily to monitor duplication attempts and will continue managing the game economy to avoid major disruptions.

DDoS Attack

The main cause of instability since launch has been DDoS attacks. We sincerely apologize, especially to players on the Freya server, who suffered serious setbacks due to delayed responses.

The attacks began shortly after the service launch, and since then we have implemented various security solutions and improved our internal systems. Even so, modified attack patterns continued, causing access issues on some maps and, more recently, even login failures.

Currently, the attacks are being effectively mitigated, and we are maintaining 24-hour monitoring, as attackers continue trying new methods. We will keep reinforcing security to ensure a stable service.

Bot Activity

We are currently working with GameGuard to block botting programs. Initially, detection was effective, but adjustments made to protect against DDoS created conflicts with some GameGuard functions, allowing recent bot activity.

We are continuously adjusting the system. After yesterday’s maintenance, improvements were implemented and we haven’t observed large-scale bot activity since. We will continue monitoring and updating our defenses against new automation programs.

Access Issues

During DDoS mitigation, some IPs used in the attacks were blocked. Unfortunately, this affected some legitimate users who had trouble accessing the game. We are collecting the IPs of these users to remove valid IP blocks and working on a more definitive solution.

We are also considering compensation for affected players, with rewards exceeding the damage caused. Information will be announced through an official statement.

Other Topics

1. Can you clearly guarantee that there will be no server wipe? If there is any chance, players must be informed now so they don’t waste their time. If a wipe occurs, there should be a reimbursement plan, including inflation correction, for those who don’t want to continue.

Despite the DDoS attacks and bot issues, we are doing everything possible to protect and improve the service. There will be no server wipe.

2. How can I buy costumes (cosmetic items) with MiauMiau (Miaufruit)?

They can be purchased from an NPC located in the bottom-left corner of Malangdo.

3. Inflation is getting serious. What is the strategy to stabilize the server economy?

We are tracking items generated through fraudulent purchases via logs and taking measures to prevent recurrence. Sanctions will also be applied to both buyers and sellers involved.

We ask for the community’s help in keeping the server healthy. Reports through tickets are highly appreciated.

4. If the problems are resolved, is there a chance to open a new server instead of keeping the current one affected by bugs?

That will only be considered if there is significant player demand. Currently, with the growth of accounts on the third server (Yggdrasil), we are evaluating the opening of a fourth server: Baphomet.

5. I couldn’t access the game all day, and the compensation was only a 2-hour buff at 5 AM? Do you plan to improve your compensation policy?

The compensation policy for maintenance is under review. We plan to extend the usage time of the Biscuit Kafra so more players can benefit.

However, compensation is targeted at players who were specifically affected during downtime, so offering excessive bonuses becomes unfeasible.

6. How will you punish Zeny sellers for real money (RMT)? Why don’t you apply sanctions immediately?

When our GMs identify RMT activities, the involved accounts are banned or blocked. We apologize for the slow initial responses, but we are already improving our processes to speed up sanctions.

We are also tracking Zeny transfers linked to these accounts, and all associated accounts will also be penalized.

7. How will the +12 refined equipment giveaway work? Will we receive tickets? Will the number of winners be announced? Will there be a live draw?

After the event ends, we will collect logs of all players who reached +12 refinement or higher. During a live broadcast, we will draw 53 winners in real time and distribute the prizes.

8. When will ticket responses be faster?

We are constantly expanding the team to speed up ticket responses. We’re currently receiving around 10,000 tickets per day, causing more delays than initially expected. We understand this reflects the high number of players facing issues, and we’re reinforcing the team and improving processes to respond more quickly.

9. The same-sex marriage feature was removed. What is Gravity and the team’s stance on LGBTQ+ marriages?

The feature was temporarily disabled due to a bug with a specific race. We are working on a quick fix and plan to reactivate the feature with the July 24 update.

10. Why did several rewards from the Oval Artifact, like the Neutralizer and Compact Box, become untradeable? Is there any benefit to this?

These items were originally intended as consumables but ended up being used to generate excessive amounts of Zeny. To preserve their intended purpose, they were adjusted to be non-tradeable.

11. The in-game economy collapsed just two weeks after launch. Just look at merchants in Prontera, Morroc, and Payon selling refined gear and rare cards at suspicious prices.

Some players, initially appearing as legitimate payers, were later confirmed to have made fraudulent payments, which devalued certain items. Those accounts have been banned, and all related accounts are under investigation for sanctions.

12. When will the BSB (Blacksmith Blessing) be usable on +6 items? It's frustrating to lose a roulette item at such a low refinement level.

The restriction on BSB usage at +6 is intentional and aligned with the original design. However, we will discuss with the development team ways to improve this experience.

13. You promised active GM presence, but so far they only appear during events. Even with ticket reports, there’s no action against Zeny sellers, and their shops stay active.

As with ticket responses, we are working on faster responses to these issues. We are also expanding the team to better meet the current server demands.

14. During the press conference, you mentioned taking down private servers, but they’re still online. When will concrete actions be taken?

We are already preparing to block private servers as planned. However, we won’t publicly disclose the details of these operations. We ask for your understanding, as investigations and enforcement actions must remain confidential.

15. Can you add the option to use Trans class costumes in the Stylist NPC, not just third class ones?

As mentioned in a previous stream, unfortunately this feature cannot be implemented at the moment. We ask for your understanding.

16. Is there a chance to receive more VIP coins for the VIP shop?

VIP Coins were exclusive to the launch event and will not be redistributed. However, similar events are being considered.

17. What is the plan to bring back players who left due to the problems? Do you have a recovery strategy?

We are planning return events for former players and, as mentioned earlier, thinking of compensation for those affected by access issues. We are consulting the development team to prepare these events.

18. Do you plan to release a coupon or system to change character names?

The feature is already in development, but due to the multilingual application, it’s taking a bit more time. We are working hard to implement it as soon as possible.

Future Direction of the Development Studio

During LATAM service, we’ve seen the passion of players in the region. We also recognize our mistakes, which is why the studio promises the following 4 actions:

  1. 1. We will follow the update schedule as published on the official website roadmap.

  2. 2. We will constantly monitor item and Zeny fluctuations, maintain economy balance, and strictly punish abuse.

  3. 3. We will respond quickly to external attacks to minimize player harm.

  4. 4. We will swiftly counteract evolving bot activity to minimize user impact.

These promises will be fulfilled. We are planning multiple online and offline events this year.

While the date is not yet set, we are planning a player meetup in São Paulo for late September. For players outside Brazil, an in-person event is planned for next year. We are also preparing a competitive championship in both online and offline formats. The qualifying phase is expected in Q4, with a live final in December. Event details and rules will be announced soon.

We deeply thank all players who love and support Ragnarok. We will do our utmost to fulfill everything announced today. We will continue to communicate with you and work together to build the LATAM server.

We wish you all a great journey in the game.
